Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and certified Senior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a Private Sewage Disposal System (PSDS) Installer Certification and have a proven track record in septic system design and installation. This role requires a minimum of 10 successful new system builds, with the ability to provide examples and three professional references.

The Senior Technician will lead teams through project conception to implementation, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality and innovation. A passion for staying at the forefront of septic design, particularly in septic field remediation, soil rejuvenation, and full system restoration, is essential.

Additionally, we are looking for professionals who can procure their own business, generating new opportunities that are incremental to SepTech’s existing customer base. This role is ideal for individuals who are not only technical experts but also business-minded professionals eager to grow their own portfolio while contributing to SepTech’s expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor teams in the design and installation of septic systems, including at-grade, mound, and field builds
  • Oversee new septic tank installations and manage full delivery and lateral mechanics
  • Develop and implement system engineering and architecture plans for new installations
  • Stay updated on industry advancements by attending trade shows and conferences, such as the annual Water & Wastewater Equipment, Treatment & Transport (WWETT) Show in Indianapolis
  • Drive innovation by integrating new technologies and methodologies suitable for Alberta’s unique climate
  • Collaborate with management to advance SepTech’s mission of leading in septic field and full system restoration
  • Provide guidance and support to Technicians and Junior Technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development
  • Identify and procure new business opportunities beyond SepTech’s existing customer base, contributing to both personal and company growth

Qualifications & Skills:

  • PSDS Installer Certification as recognized by the Alberta Onsite Wastewater
  • Management Association (AOWMA)
  • Minimum of 10 successful septic system builds, with the ability to provide examples and three professional references
  • Strong background in septic system design, installation, and project management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams from project conception through to completion
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on industry innovations
  • Willingness to attend industry events and conferences, both locally and internationally
  • Passion for septic field remediation, soil rejuvenation, and system restoration
  • Business development skills—ability to generate and procure new customer contracts in addition to SepTech’s existing clientele
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
